There have been rumors about a foldable phone from Google for over a year, and now the first rendered images of what could be the “Pixel Fold” come.

Almost exactly a year ago, there was a rumor that Google is developing a foldable phone as a new addition to the Pixel family. Last spring, a new rumor claimed that the launch has been pushed to 2023, and now Front Page Tech is publishing what it claims are leaked 3D rendered images of the phone.

Pixel Fold, the name the phone is rumored to have, will, according to the site, be launched at the Google I/O conference in May. The sources also claim that the price will be $1,800 in the US, the same manufacturer price as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The phone is said to come in white and black colors and if the renderings are correct, the phone will have a more or less square shape unfolded, with an elongated camera raised on the back.

According to information provided to 91mobiles, Google’s upcoming foldable phone “Pixel Fold” will use Samsung-made displays.

The internal screen is said to have a refresh rate of 120Hz and a brightness of a whopping 1200 nits. The resolution must be 1840 x 2208 and the dimensions 123mm x 148mm.

The expectation is that the mobile will also get a triple camera system at the back where the main sensor is a Sony IMX787, the ultra-wide angle an IMX386 and the telephoto lens an S5K3J1. The inner screen is said to get an IMX355 sensor.

Google’s foldable phone was originally supposed to be released in the fourth quarter of 2022, but now appears to be launched in the spring of 2023.
